Zsolt Pinke obtained a PhD in History at the University of Pécs (2015), and in Environmental Science at Szent István University, Hungary (2018). After that, he worked as a postdoctoral, and then senior researcher at Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary. He was subsequently awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie individual fellowship at Aarhus University, Denmark. Meanwhile, he obtained a grant at Eötvös Loránd University to organize an interdisciplinary research team in order to lay the foundations of an independent laboratory. Working together with ecologists, economists and hydrologists, this team focuses on the opportunities of massive wetland restoration, analyzing the land-use context and the biophysical background of the most important ecosystem services of wetlands. Besides his scientific activity, as a writer or interviewee Zsolt is committed to reporting widely on scientific questions and results. As of this year, he has begun participating in radio and television broadcasts frequently.
