Julia Tovote is a Research Fellow at the Forschungszentrum für Nachhaltigkeit of the Freie Universität Berlin and the cluster of excellence “Contestations of the Liberal Script (SCRIPTS)”,  and Researcher at the Leibniz-Institut für Evolutions- und Biodiversitätsforschung of the Museum für Naturkunde.
