FAQ

Everything you need to know for your enjoyable Berlin Science Week experience!

WHERE DOES BERLIN SCIENCE WEEK TAKE PLACE?

Most of the events will take place all across Berlin – at venues like Futurium, Urania, Radialsystem, or Zeiss-Großplanetarium.

On 4 and 5 November, we will once again turn the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin into our festival centre – the Campus – and present many interesting events, exhibitions, and interventions around the theme ‘Paradigm Shift. Co-Creating a Sustainable Now’!

Moreover, there will be a lot to experience online.

IS THERE A PROGRAMME OVERVIEW THAT I CAN DOWNLOAD?

You can download the programme 2022 here.

Where can I find the magazine of Berlin Science Week?

In cooperation with Der Tagesspiegel, a bilingual magazine is produced every year which is available digitally in addition to the print supplement! In this edition you may read about the opportunities for a sustainable future, psychedelics in medicine and an art project that debunks the myths surrounding artificial intelligence. All topics are also reflected as events in the Berlin Science Week. Moreover, you can find further event insights and recommendations.

Happy Reading!

IS THERE A TICKET? HOW DO I REGISTER FOR EVENTS?

Please note that there is not one ticket for the entire Berlin Science Week festival. Registrations for the events are made directly with the respective organisers, and partaking is mostly free of charge. This is why we are unfortunately unable to issue official invitations for visa applications.

Many organisations require your registration prior to the event, especially for in-person formats. Once the programme is published at the end of September 2022, please check on the respective event page if a registration is required in advance.

WHAT IS THE BERLIN SCIENCE WEEK CAMPUS?

On Friday and Saturday – 4/5 November 2022 – the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin will transform into Berlin Science Week‘s main festival centre: the Campus. Centrally located and easy to reach, the Campus offers a vibrant atmosphere to come together, join important debates, to connect with likeminded people, and to get inspired through science!

This year’s overarching theme will be ‘Paradigm Shift. Co-Creating a Sustainable Now’. Make sure to mark your calendars and look forward to more than 30 inspiring events, pop-up formats, networking opportunities, and interactive exhibitions.

ARE ALL EVENTS FREE OF CHARGE?

The majority of events are free of charge. However, there are a few events that require a fee. Once published, go to the event page and have a look at the details.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED IN NEXT YEAR’S EDITION OF BERLIN SCIENCE WEEK?

Join our mission if you are a national or international university, a research institution, a science-based start-up or an innovative business, a science engagement & science policy initiative, or an interdisciplinary project related to science.

Our registration deadline for 2022 has ended on 31 July. If you would like to get involved next year, please check our Get Involved page for more information. We will be available again for enquiries and introductory meetings from January 2023 🙂
