Cybersecurity of Critical Infrastructures

joint EUROPEAN DISRUPTIVE INITIATIVE (JEDI) | Christian Hummert, André Loesekrug-Pietri

Technological frontiers in protecting our energy grids, hospitals, datacenters and powerplants

The increasing networking and digitalisation of society enables great progress, but also poses considerable challenges for its protection. Critical infrastructures are particularly vulnerable because their impairment would result in significant supply bottlenecks or threats to public safety. In addition to targeted attacks, global conflicts that are increasingly being fought in the cyber and information space can also have local effects.
There is an urgent need to develop capabilities to secure critical system. That is the goal of the KRITIS Challenge (Automated Security for Critical Infrastructure) — tune in to hear more from JEDI, the Joint European Disruptive Initiative, and the German Cyberagentur about the first lessons learnt from this Challenge, the best solutions that are being developed, as well as the next frontiers in cybersecurity that needs to be pushed forward.
