Lisa Witter knows bureaucracy isn’t sexy and that good work often goes unnoticed. Despite this, she works tirelessly to try and ensure politicians and public servants have the training necessary to carry out their duties to the best of their ability. This includes providing pathways for existing and future politicians to learn about how to implement science into their policymaking objectives. In her conversation with Julia Stamm, Lisa discusses the potential innovation science can bring to the government in times of crisis and the necessity for governments to work with the scientific community to develop fair and equitable rules surrounding the integration of scientific advancements into our society.
